For fun, I was wondering if anyone has tried this formula. I know it's probably not super accurate. My dog was predicted to be 30 to 40 pounds and this formula is saying 66 pounds for him. My vet originally said 70 pounds but he only had one weight and said he needed two on the chart to make a good estimate. I laughed and said NO WAY and he said he seems to have a large frame and he'll be shocked if he's under 60 pounds. I think the joke may be on me. Funny thing is, I was worried he'd be smaller then I wanted. Don't get me wrong, I will love my Lil Henry Wadsworth no matter how big he is! It's exciting watching him grow, we can't believe how big he has already gotten.
So, I just was curious if anyone punched in a puppy weight they had and it came out to be pretty close. Here is the formula, which is pretty basic. My husband emailed it to me, so I am not sure where he got it. So, if it's totally wrong blame him! HA HA
(Weight Now / Weeks Old) X 52 = Expected Grown Weight.
Henry would be: 14 Pounds / 11 weeks = 1.27 x 52 = 66 LBS
Edited to add: After just a few repsonses this seems VERY inaccurate! :)

The other "formula" I've heard is to double the weight at 16 weeks and add up to 10lbs. It seems to be pretty accurate for many of us here.
Your husband's formula predicted Darwin to be 81lbs. Darwin is only 64lbs. :-)
Ok, just to keep things from being too easy...I tried your formula out on Brulee's stats and it seems to be a reasonable #!
I took her weight (20lbs) , divided by her age (41 weeks), took that factor (0.487) and multiplied it by 52. I came up with a mature weight of 25.36 lbs, which seems right on with her parents weighing 25 and 26 lbs.
She's a minature, so could that affect the outcome of the math? Or did I do something incorrectly?
Am I the only one who found it worked??? Yikes!
HA! I was wondering how accurate it could be. Maybe Henry will be more what we were thinking then, not that it matters. My curiousity was getting to me. Henry is only 14 pounds at 11 weeks!! I'm thinking this formula is a wash!
Well, now I am definitely throwing this away, junk! It's pretty much been VERY wrong for everyone who responded so far. I will have to ask my hubby where he found this. We were trying to guess for fun since he's not 16 weeks yet. Guess we'll get to see in in another few weeks with the 16 weeks formula.
Hmmm if I use Rosco's 12 week weight it says he'd weigh 130 lbs by the time he's grown. Well he's 5 years old and 90 lbs (which is 5 lbs too heavy for him). So nope...doesn't work for him. If I used his 22 week (5 month) weight then he'd be well over 100 lbs again.
And with Boca's 16 week weight it also has her looking to be bigger than she is at a year...by 15 lbs!
On the other hand the 'Rule of Thumb" of doubling the weight at 16 weeks and adding 5-10 lbs seems to be more accurate for both of my dogs.
