miniature ld reaching full size faster?

I have read that smaller breed dogs tend to reach their full size earlier than larger dogs. Duncan is about 8 months old now and weighs 21 pounds. I am having a hard time getting his height because he's doesn't stand still but i think he's about 14 inches tall. He's the exact same size as my brother's mini ld Casey. She's actually a few pounds less and she's almost 2. So I'm wondering if he might get larger or maybe he's just at full size now. I don't care really either way. Although my flea and tick medication is for up to 22 pounds so that would be the only issue.

He still may grow more over the next 4 months or so. Maybe not so much in height but he may "fill out". Is your brother's from the same breeder and parents? If so they should be similar.

yep same breeder and they even share the same father just different moms. My brother's dog was the runt but her mom was definitely bigger than Duncan's mom.

I agree with Kyoko! He is sooo cute. What a perfect size for cuddling. Hope he is a cuddler. My guess is that he will get bigger. Even for a mini, 8 months seems a little young to stop growing. I am no expert or have any knowledge whatsoever, though!

thanks! yes. he's a total cuddler. the kind that has to be leaning his chin on you at all times. I guess time will tell what size he'll end up being. Luckily i have no concerns either way.
