Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Bruin had his first vet appointment yesterday.  DH is still home for another week so he got to take our little baby.  He was a little concerned about going without me, but Mom had to go to work.

He was so proud of his boy.  Bruin behaved like a little angel sitting on daddy's lap in the waiting area while all the Mom's goo goo'd and gaa gaa'd over this adorable puppy.  "Oh is he cute, what kind of dog is he?  What's his name?  Oh, are you a hockey fan?  How old is he?  Boy, he is gonna be huge!  Oh what a good boy you are!"  Then off they go into an exam room, where all the female staff must come in to say hi and see the cute puppy.

He got is nails trimmed and his ears plucked and cleaned.  He weighs 15 pounds and the vet thinks he will be a very large goldendoodle (he does have a brother from the last litter that weighs 115 lbs - yikes).  Poor little guy has an ear infection!  (had no clue!)  He was microchipped and cried like a baby and then got his shots.

When they returned to the reception area to pay the bill, Bruin sat nicely next to Daddy's feet, then layed down.  Attracted the attention all over again from the newcomers that arrived while they were in the exam room.

Bet Dad will be scheduling a day off in three weeks when Bruin has his next appointment!!!

Good job, Bruin! Sounds like he did better than Sadie at her first appointment--she peed all over the exam table as soon as the vet walked in.
awww, poor thing!  they are just too smart aren't they?

Laughing out loud, Melody ... I know what you mean about the "chick magnet" thing ... have thought it's a shame with Lachlan that I'm not a guy!  (Oddly enough, now that Lach's older I get more guys approaching to fuss over him ... what's up with that?!)

Lachlan says "Great job, Bruin! Play the cute and enjoy all that attention, fella!"

see, the guys dig the big doods!

Yah, I had the exact same experience! In fact, that's pretty standard no matter where I go. The ladies just love him!. Unfortunately it doesn't help single mama out any!

Is Bruin 9 weeks? Sounds like he and Cooper are both growing at the same big-boy rate (he was 23 at 12 weeks!). But, my goodness, 115lbs! I better start hitting the gym if Coops gets that big. Bruin is adorable and I love the name... even though I'm a Vancouver native and was still in town for the finals... GRRRR ;).

Oh wait until your Cooper is huge...I think most guys like the BIG dogs! (oh no, you didn't get caught up in the madness after the finals did you?  pretty rough crowd I hear!!!)

Yes, I was there for the whole run for the cup. I was downtown when the riots started to happen and quickly got the heck out of there. It was such a disappointment and embarrassment to see what happened that night. The games leading up to the final game were awesome though - I haven't seen the city like that since the Olympics!

I just love big goldendoodles!!  Harley was 17lbs at 9 weeks.  He is now just over 7 months and weighs 65lbs.  Vet thinks he'll end up being in the 90's,  A breeder who own the doggie day care he goes to thinks he'll be over 100....time will tell.  Bruin is a cuttie, totally understand why the ckicks are drawn to him.  lol

I am excited to have a "big dood", your Harley is gorgeous!

Bruin is adorable and doodles are certainly chick magnets, just recently one of our single male friend ran into us when we were walking Quincy downtown and noticed all the attention he was getting from the ladies and declared he has got to get himself a doodle.

ha!

Darwin is a chick magnet too, meaningless to me but I'm sure DH enjoys it. Ha ha.  I guess nobody can resists a doodle's adorable fluffiness. :-)
