My breeder had started mine on the same vitamins and food. Maybe we have litter mates. I do have a friend who feeds her Goldendoodle Blue Buffalo and no vitamins. Guess I thought I would stay with the same as was started. Will be nice to hear from others.
There are many discussions on Life's Abundance and NuVet vitamins. Check out the food group to see recommended food brands!
I'm sure Karen will chime in pretty quickly on this one. LA and NuVet vitamins are pyramid scheme products that are mediocre quality and over priced. What happens if you don't feed that food and buy those vitamins? Having it be a REQUIREMENT seems like a red flag to me. That is the breeder wanting more money rather than looking out for the health of the dog.
Red flag INDEED!
Do a search on Life's Abundance in the Food Group as the guru Karen is not in this group. It is not a great food very expensive for an okay food. Do a search! To me it is enough of a red flag to back out because every time you buy either of those your breeder is getting the money. Also neither can guarantee the health of your dog and it is ridiculous that breeders say that if you do not give them this your contract is not valid, they are just money hungry!
Join the Food Group here on DK. I believe there have been discussions about these products and breeders requiring that you purchase them for your pup. I can tell you that the breeder makes money from the sale of these items and that is why it is required of you to buy them! Some of us here think that this practice is not acceptable and some find it to be downright unscrupulous! Those products are sold via multi-level marketing and your breeder is making money each time you buy them. I am sure that you will find much better choices of food in the Food Group's lists.........

I took the liberty to post a link for you... Here it is.... http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/thefoodgroup/forum/topic/search?g... Look for Karens responses, she knows what she is talking about!
Pretty sure Costco food is not recommended either...I would move to Canidae or Earthborn if you are looking to stay on the less expensive end of the higher quality kibbles. Come join us in the food group!
Yes, Stephanie is right! ANY food from a big box store you can pretty much be sure it is not recommended because it is outsourced! I also agree with Stephanie, come join us in the Food Group! Janet, just so you know your breeder is getting all the money whenever you buy either of those! That is why they recommend them and even some of the more greedy ones make that a stipulation in their contracts!
If it were me I would just do that! What food is the dog currently on? What do you plan to switch it too?
