Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

This is a cross-post from the main forum:

There was a post not too long ago about the different type of pet bowls being used.  Now there is a safety issue to think about with stainless steel bowls! Always something. Petco issued a warning about some of their stainless steel pet bowls.  In part they warning stated

"Stainless Steel Bowl Notice

Petco has determined that one of its foreign suppliers used stainless steel mistakenly containing small quantities of Cobalt-60 when fabricating certain orders of certain SKUs/models of stainless steel pet food bowls. Cobalt-60 is a radioactive material commonly used in industrial gauging equipment and other uses."

really I just bought bowls from them but the stickers were the first thing you peel off before you let the dogs drink out of them. Maybe an adult would have to hold it there for six days but what about babies and little puppies being near them. between contaminated food and now bowls is there anything that is really safe to buy from a store. Time for me to buy a kiln and start making my own dishes :)P

Look into the Fiesta bowls.  I bought them for Camus and they are great.  Made in USA and cheaper than a kiln :)
