I am, in part, venting and also wondering what others are experiencing with PetPlan renewals. In 2011 my policy for Camus was $171.50, in 2012 it went to $249.90 and the renewal letter for 2013…Continue

Camus was barking like a crazy dog at anyone or thing on the other side of our fence.  Nothing I did worked.  It got to the point where he lost his outside privileges for the better part of the day,…Continue

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Nietzsche was diagnosed with megaesophagus 6/11/10 , but he lost his battle, I had to let him go. I will never forget my little Nietzsche, if you would like to visit him he is at the Rainbow Bridge. http://doodlerescueinc.ning.com/group/rainbowbridge.
My new scruffy, fuzzy Labradoodle is Camus (ka-MOO). I adopted Camus from the Doodle Rescue Collective.
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Rescue
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I started looking a Doodles because my dog Einstein was 1/2 Lab and a wonderful dog. And I loved his 'proverbial puppy' personality, despite his love for unstuffing -- beds, couches, down quilts -- whatever appeared to be stuffed. He was otherwise a fantastic dog, and I still miss him. I started looking for a Lab mix and found Labradoodles.
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Camus loves to run and has tons of energy so going to a dog park at least once a day is a must. When he matures a bit more we will go to the ocean. Nietzsche had an extreme case of separation anxiety and was very sensitive. He was with me 24/7 and loved the ocean and the dog park, but did best in the park for small dogs. Everyone knew him now so no one is concerned about his size. He was very gentle and played well with even the tiniest of dogs and cats too for that matter.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Yes!
Who grooms your doodle(s)?
His coat does not require professional grooming, but I brush im daily to help with the shedding.
Favorite Doodle Products?
I do not know of any products that are specifically Doodle.
Relationship Status:
It's Complicated
Would you be willing to Dog Sit on occasion for other DoodleKisses members? (You are NOT committing to anything by saying yes - you are just saying you might be willing to do this if you were acquainted with the other member and the circumstances were right.)
Yes

Nietzsche had megaesophagus.

Nietzsche had megaesophagus, a very severe case that left him unable to get adequate nutrients. His test results showed a constriction at the end of his esophagus that only allowed a small amount of food to very slowly enter his stomach. Despite his physical condition he was a very happy puppy and would try to play whenever he saw a friend. Sadly, I no longer have him and miss him terribly, but he is in a better place.

Small world. My parents live on Bellevue, just a few blocks over.  My grandmother lives at LSD and Schiller.  I travelled all around the world and wound up in Lakeshore East, for now at least.

Those are great dogs' names.  Wasn't Einstein the name of the Professor's dog from Back to the Future as well?  I briefly considered naming my newest dog Derrida due to his talent for deconstruction but decided that might not be so good for training purposes.

Funny, small world.  I just like that all your dogs are named after philosophers.  Where in Chicago are you from?

Ugh, i know exactly what you mean. The move feels like madness now. Who would ever leave SoCal !!!!! Hector will be my sole friend, entertainment and job and may help me meet people if i can stay sane through his puppy-crazed days.
