Realistic for 9 Week puppy to go in doggy backpack on a bike ride?

Can I carry my  9 week old puppy in a special doggy backpack  while I riding my Mountain Bike for 3 hours? (Getting puppy in 2 weeks)  I can stop as often as I want to try and get him to pee and bring water for him.  My breeder thinks it's fine but I thought I'd ask folks living in the trenches, so to speak. TIA :)

Have a good play first and tire him out.
I would start with 1 hour & see how that goes. I don't know - would the pup be comfortable? Can he/she nap in there?
Not sure how comfortable it will be until I try it.
Not sure about napping
Not sure as I haven't ordered the backpack yet and dont have my puppy yet.
Depending on where you live I would be a little concerned with if the puppy would get too hot.  How is the air circulation in the carrier.  I know my girls didn't even want a bed or blanket in their crate because the plastic crate liner was cooler.
There is circulation in the carrier and some shade on the path.  I guess I'll have to see how he likes it
Hhmm, where would you go? Would you stay on a fairly smooth surface, or would you actually take the pup on mountain trails? If you will be riding on mountain trails, I'd be concerned about jostling him too much or the possibility of taking a spill on the bike. Sorry if these are dumb questions, but I was just wondering since you specified mountain bike. Let us know how it goes. I've never biked with my dogs and I'm curious.
I was hoping to ride my mountain bike on dirt carriage trails.  They are mostly pretty smooth and wide.  There are a few bumpy parts but I wasn't worried about taking a spill more about his comfort.  I'll tell you how it goes when I try it.
Personally, as someone who has a nine week old puppy, unless this is something you have to do rather than something you want to do I would give it a miss.  Three hours is a long stretch in puppy time. If it's hot then that's a big problem and at nine weeks he will need to pee often.
I remember when Peri was 9 weeks and she HATED being kept in something that long.  I had a stroller for her since we couldn't walk her everywhere and all she wanted to do was climb out.  3 hours is probably too long in my opinion.

I'd try it for an hour and work your way up.  I took my 10 week old puppy on 45 minute bike rides in a backpack/kangaroo pocket contraption (it was open top so he could enjoy the breeze) and he loved it.

Out of curiosity, what kind of bag are you using?  My puppy has outgrown that bag and now I need something bigger!
