Stinky Ears????

Jack is almost 9 months and just started having very stinky ears! I tried cleaning with vinegar and Walter solution but still stinky
I'm trying to see if this means infection or could just need a good cleaning? Obviously I'll ask a vet but was wondering what others experience is?

Also what is your normal cleaning ear routine?

Sounds (smells) like a yeast infection. They have a habit of reoccurring. The vet will take a sample of any "debris" in the ear canal and look at it microscopically to determine what the cause is and then prescribe accordingly. You must be vigilant in treatment as they can become chronic.

Agree. It's a yeast infection or a straight up ear infection. Spike used to get a lot of them. It's very common in the floppy ear breeds. Especially the poodle side.
Our vet has given us Burow's solution to use whenever Spike gets his head wet. Since we've been using it he hasn't had one infection. And when I "smell" one coming on the burrows clears it right up. And yes you can literally smell them. You can also tell visually because their ears start to get very red on the inside.

Infection.  You need a diagnosis and medicine from the vet.

It happened after he went swimming ☹️ I'll be going to the vet

One of my dogs gets them from swimming, the other never gets them. I usually find out before i smell it because my other dog will smell it and start trying to clean his ears. Once he's done swimming, I use a solution that I bought from Petsmart to clean his ears. It doesn't allow bacteria/yeast to grow in there... Good luck!

No infection! Just a stinky dog?? What the? I brush and wash this guy but somehow he's stinky near the face
The doctor said its the smell of yeast but no infection so try to keep his beard clean and ears dry after getting wet

He's getting a full groom and trim tomorrow so hopefully that helps

Perhaps a vinegar/water solution on a cloth on his beard and ear tips where he gets food
