Hi! I'm looking for a good resource to teach my puppy commands.  She knows sit, down, paw, come and crate right now.  She knows those pretty well and I want to keep teaching her.  Does anyone know of a good book that will train me on how to teach my doodle more?

Hi Tiffany-

As a newbie puppy owner, what I found most helpful was to enroll Maisy in a puppy beginner obedience class using clicker training.  I did some research to find a reputable trainer who uses only positive methods.  Puppy classes helped me understand what I was doing right and wrong so I could correct  myself immediately.  Now that Maisy is 7 months old she has also completed a "Beyond the Basics" class, and we are working on proofing what she knows. We are also learning some tricks on our own, which is fun for both of us. I like the Kyra Sundance books, not only for tricks but for useful basic commands.

Thanks Kristin! I'll look into the Kyra Sundance books! We did puppy classes (1 hour a week for 8 weeks) and just finished so I want to make sure to continue teaching her.

Doggy Dan has an online site with videos. It is an excellent resource and for $1.00 you can access the website for 3 days as a trial period. Decide for yourself. A bunch of us here on DK have used him.

thanks for the suggestion! I'm going to check it out.
