Typical Behaviour?

Toby is 4 1/2 months old. He has been doing so well with not nipping. Now, however, his baby teeth are falling out, adult teeth are coming in, and it seems we're back at it again. I assume it may be because his teeth are bothering him, or he's feeling "older" and trying to gain positions in the family authority chain. But today has been particularly bad. He had to have a time out in his crate. Not something I normally do, because I want the crate to be a good place, not a punishment. So....is this typical?

Tully's nipping sounds the same.It had abated somewhat, but now his teeth are falling out (we find them in the strangest places!) and he's back at it. His gums and teeth bleed on his toys and bones when he chomps down on them. Have you tried the hand over the snout with "no bite?" That's the only thing that really works for Tully.
How is Toby's limping problem?

Oh yes, I've done that. He knows what "no bite" and "no teeth" mean. He just ignores me sometimes. We find spots of blood on his toys too. I just picked up a marrow bone for him to scrape his teeth on. :)

His limping is somewhat improved, but I'm taking him to the vet today just to be on the safe side. If nothing is wrong, I will consider it money spent for peace of mind.

I am glad to have this warning, as Bumble is just about 4 1/2 months now herself. We haven't seen any teeth falling out yet, and she's getting pretty good about letting me clean her teeth. I did often find that crating her or tethering her with something cold to chew on helped her a lot.
