Albus - F1 Standard Goldendoodle

[From Pup to Adult]

Here are some pictures of Albus' coat changes throughout the time when he was 8 weeks until now, when he is a little over 1 1/2 years old.  He's gone from straight and shaggy on his body to wavy/curly pretty much all over, although the hair on his back is a bit more coarse than the rest of him, and the hair on his belly is baby-fine and pretty straight.  He no longer mats very often, and I would classify him as non-shedding.

Yes, I keep his hair cut very short.  I know I'm in the minority here.  I just love the feeling of it when it's short -- like velvet.  And it may be just me, but I love the way his face looks when it's short!  Still doodley, and definitely not too poodley.  Maybe it's just his big nose :)

Looking good! We're with you an the short styling. Although our girls keep a fuller face, we have the groomer take them down to 5/6 inch every 8 weeks, year round. They seem to like being lighter and we like the "less maintenance" of the shorter cut.

We keep Allie pretty short too - for a Doodle, but we do (like Sally) keep a full face.

Kim, don't you just love the little curls on top of the nose with the full face?! Too cute.
I find lately that I'm tweaking the length on the sides of their faces - the part just in front of where the ears lay over. ......Getting long as they get older. How do YOU handle that?
"Tweaking" - It's my evening pass time some nights... watch TV, style the dogs face, watch TV. Must be my repressed childhood because I never played with dolls hair like I play with these girls faces. hahaha. And they love the attention.

This is SO interesting! Charlotte was pretty curly at 6-8 wks old - lots curlier than Albus. Now she is 4 months old and her coat looks just like Albus' 4 month old pic - long, straight/wavy, and silky.

I just trimmed my Webster's head and he looks a lot like your boy. Thanks for the pics - Albus is a handsome boy for sure!
