F2 golden/labradoodle ????

Spartan is not your "average" doodle when it comes to genetics he is a F2 golden/labradoodle, in other words his mother was a standard F1 goldendoodle and his father was a golden lab. i can't wait to watch him grow up and see what traits he is going to display

Spartan certainly is a cutie. I'm just curious what the breeder's goal was crossing a golden doodle with another retriever. I've never heard of that kind of cross. Typically, its back crossed to a poodle or another doodle. Maybe for hunting purposes?

I believe that makes him an F1b not F2- just a non-traditional one. I also wonder why the breeder would do that cross; I've never heard of a breeder back crossing to a non-poodle parent. He sure is a cutie!

Spartan is adorable so if he was a 'mistake' I think it was a good one! Love his color and think he will have a nice coat, post lots of pictures!
