Lucy and Sophie at 8 Weeks

10 Weeks

Around 6 months!  Lucy is already turning silver.

6 Months -- Sophie is starting to curl -- Beginning of coat change as the hair that was curling was much different texture.  You can also see some apricot/brown in Lucy at this point.

Approx 10 months -- Right before Lucy went for her first haircut!

1st Haircut -- 10 months --- I found a couple little mats -- she was so long she was getting hard to comb out.  Didn't have them cut a whole lot, but she was easier to manage.  She was already getting very silver.

Right around their 1st b-day.  Sophie just gets longer and Lucy has had a couple haircuts.

May of 2010, Just over 2 years.  Both needing summer haircuts.

EDITED, 2-18-15 -- This is one of the last photos taken of Lucy and Sophie together.  This was at a fundraiser at the Animal Shelter in 2013.  Sophie was a couple months into her Chemo at this point and was not doing very well.  We lost her about one month later.  They were just short of their 5th birthday in this photo.

I just reviewed these again. They have the sweetest faces.   It really is hard to realize that they are littermates.

I just came across this through a Google search of all things! Did you notice any colors other than black on Lucy when she was younger before the silver started to show through?
I notice on Jade that she has like a "halo" of a lighter color on the bridge of her nose and in just the right light she looks almost a dark brown.
Sophie was beautiful. It is interesting to see the differences in litter mates.

Yes, almost from the very first photos we took of her when I look back I can see the silver starting to come through on her face.  It also started very early on on the fronts of her legs.  She also had a deep brown almost reddish color on the tips of her hair on the top of her head until after she had her first haircut.  Your Jade is adorable and looks so much like Lucy as a puppy.  Look forward to seeing how she turns out.

I'm so sorry for your loss. That's so sad. I was so enjoying the picture story until I got down to the last one! Its so amazing how Sophie's coat changed. My doodle has very wavy hair kind of like Sophie's was at 6 months. My girl is almost 5 months. So much fun to see the changes, I so love this group!

Those curls down the back do look very familiar.  I love her coloring.  She is going to be a beauty when that coat comes all out.  Now she is an adorable puppy.
