What will my little Higgins look like?

Hi all! I'm pretty new to DK but I'm so excited to have found this resource. I'm already so in love with my little guy, Higgins, though we've only had him 6 days! He's just over 8 weeks old right now. 

He's totally a cutie and I love him no matter what, but I'm curious what you think he'll look like. I think he's starting to doodle out a little already, especially on his face and legs, but he's definitely not fluffy. In fact, our vet said they didn't even believe he was a goldendoodle because his hair is "so coarse."

Has anyone else had a puppy that is sort of coarse from the start, instead of bunny soft? (I've only seen a lot of people say that when they got older they turned coarse.) He's not like sandpaper or anything -- still lovely to pet and touch and hold, but he definitely doesn't feel like a bunny. What do you experts think?

Anyway -- curious what you think Higgins will look like! Will he get curly or shaggy? Rough or smooth?

He is very cute.  He looks like a doodle to me.  The hair changes so much.  Kate's hair is a little course on her back and wavy.  The rest of her is softer.  Check out the groups because there is one from Pup to Adults and it's fun to see how they change.  Have fun with Higgins.  Susan

CUTE! The little tufts of fur on his snout and beneath his eyes show the start of "doodling." I don't see much evidence of future curls- usually the ears will be the first place that you see it. But, as Susan said, that can all change over time.

Awww, Higgins is just adorable! He absolutely looks like a Doodle to me. Looks like he might have a straighter, scruffy coat. But you really never know till they're a little older. Did you see his parents? Is he F1, meaning one parent is a Golden and one parent a Poodle?

Thank you! and Phew! A straight scruffy coat sounds awesome to me. 

And yes, we met his parents -- they were both lovely. Higgins is an F1 and his dad is a beautiful reddish Golden and his mom is a Poodle -- when we met her she definitely wasn't the softest poodle I've ever met, so I suspect that is what Higgin's rougher fur is attributed to.
