Awww! Your son is such a sweetheart! I think you're right, Cricket has second child syndrome. She was so excited when Boo returned, she jumped all over him! :)

Oh...Cricket, you do not know life without Boo, isn't it? Sharon, it is 2nd child syndrome - my son cannot be alone without my daughter. If for some reason he is home without his sister, he will be checking the door every 10min asking if her school bus has come yet:-)

Poor pups, sorry to hear about all the allergy problems you're dealing with. So far Cricket has been fine, maybe because our weather is a lot drier? Hope you guys are able to find a solution to their itchies.

Margaret- did you want a costume for Maddie or for you? LOL, I'm confused! :)

Cricket is barking at me, because Boo is away at the groomers. (Well, the mobile groomers, so technically he's in our driveway.) I think Cricket feels out of sorts without her brother around! :)

Berry is constantly on zyrtec...i am even scared to take her off of it. Steroid shots must be helping Maddie. When Berry was given Steroid tablets, it was really so good...I did not see her itch once during that time. On zyrtec, she still itches but not to the point of breaking her skin so far. Berry was on TOTW but she has been on Acana for a year now. She was on their chicken formula but now she is on their fish formula for a few months. She always had omega-3 since she came home. My guess is that Omega-3 has kept her itchiness under control but this fall it hit the roof...

Carol,
We where on Cal Natural and just switched to the TOTW but the itchy problem started while we where on CN. I took her back to the vet last week and I got a yet different vet. This time he did skin scrapes and gave her a shot of steroids and gave me some antibiotics and they seems to be helping. He thinks it is a dermatitis of some sort maybe allergy related. But she seems to be much less itchy as she is not sleeping peacefully on my new couch!!! Oh and yes we are taking Omega 3 which we last spring when she had an itchy problem then but the Omega 3 seemed to help her then.

How about Berry how is she doing???

Poor Maddie...Hope you will get some answers from the vet and find something to relieve her from itchiness. Please let me know what happens.

Well, we are going back to the vet today Zytrec is not giving her much if any relieve. We had one good night where she slept and I thought we were doing better but I was wrong :( Let see what the vet says today...

Sharon: Cricket is so cute can I love the costume..you make one of those for ME???

Hmmm...Still have not decided what Berry will be for this halloween. My daughter picked up a butterfly wings, but dont know how it will fly with her:-)
Anyways, Berry has been suffering this fall with allergies(what we suspect). She has been officially diagnosed to have dermatitis due to allergies, I guess. She went thro' steroids and then now she is on zyrtec. Steroids worked real well but cannot keep her on that forever. Zyrtec gives her some relief that she does chew anywhere but still scratches from time to time. When she is on these medication, I realized that her eyes doesn't water either...so maybe it was always allergy related. I know Maddie is also going thro' same or more. So, have you seen this with any of your doodles? We are just waiting for the winter now to see how she does without medication to rule out food allergy. My guess is completely environmental allergy...i suspect that she is even allergic to mold spores since i have noticed that she gets worse when it rains. Depending on how this goes, we are planning to have allergy skin testing done in spring.
