Is Panacur (liquid) safe for dogs with seizures/epilepsy? Luigi has been seizure free for 2 weeks and now the vet wants to use Panacur on him and it is making me nervous!
Advice????
Thanks!

Does he have giardia?
Panacur is the most effective treatment I have found to get rid of giardia, but I've only used a powdered form that gets mixed into food, I have no experience with the liquid. "Panacur" is the brand name, the drug itself is fenbendazole.
It is known to be relatively safe, is used often to deworm puppies, and has very few side effects, but certainly you would want to know if there is any connection with seizures. I did not find one in my brief research just now.
Of course, you would want to be sure it is safe for dogs with seizure disorders. Your vet should know if there is any contraindication for that.
But if my dog had giardia, this is the treatment I would want, again assuming it can be used safely for Luigi.
