Sorry to read this. I am sure you have read all of the advise on things to do that may shorten or lessen the severity of the seizure (ice on hind quarter, ice cream after seizure, etc.)
Most of the time the doctors will not be able to determine a cause. Keeping a diary and recording everything may give you a hint as to what is causing the seizures. Although it may not "jump" out at you. We know that giving the Heartgard and the Frontline close together may cause a seizure in Mariner about 5 or 6 days later. Also changes in the weather - probably related to barometric pressure have caused seizures. We do follow the weather forecasts and slightly increase his medication in anticipation. Also stress in the household.
We have been lucky, having kept Mariner seizure free for over 4 and a half years. We have had times when we thought he was going to have a seizure - that we prevented. Pretty much by only sitting with him and holding him. (Also giving him some ice cream - his favorite).
