Hi there,
It's neat to discover this group...I'm training Alfie, a multigen Australian Labradoodle, to be a guide for the blind. I volunteer for Guide Dogs of Texas. Alfie's our 3rd puppy, and 2nd doodle, to raise for this organization. I'm interested to find out about other doodle service dogs out there!

Hi DeeAnn,

The One school that I work with a lot is Carolina Canines and the first three dog that I donate to them will be places in there homes soon. If you are on face book they, have a page. The voides of Luck and Sheba are the two laset ones.

She has two thing that I still need to wrok on and that is she love to fall her nose and every dog dogs meets she wants to play with. But she gose about it the wrong way. She braks at them. But she is doing better with setting and wanting. We wil get there.

Welcome Gerorgette! How wonderful that you are raising service doodles.
How many service doodles have you been able to partner with people so far?
How old is CoCo and how is he doing in his training?

Buster is a medical alert service dog. He came to me at 10 wks old from the wonderful people at Rainmaker Ranch. He's currently is 15 months old.Later this year we will start another part of his training where he will learn to alert me to my asthma trigger. I've been amazed on how intuitive he has been alerting me other things from a young age. I've reinforced his behaviors so they have become trained tasks! Buster has really changed my life for the better. Currently we are working on him alerting me when the smoke alarm goes off. Yes, I could sleep and have the house burn down around me. It has been a learning process dealing with the public since I "look fine" Most people assume I am training him for another person. If I have the time I look at it as a teaching opportunity.
