I purchased my Bentley from her in October of 2014, I haven't been able to contact her to get his papers, anyone else have pups from this litter?

Marla, I don't have it as a record. I was able to find the breeder who bread Rocky and sold him to Stargazer. She was very helpful in explaining the Merle gene and the reasons the ALAA and ACLA won't certify the lineage.

Registering really isn't important for a neutered pet.

Elena, I would love to see Rocky's lineage -- Do you have it?
Tera, I wondered about the merle gene, since I did not think poodles or labs carried it. I did not realize cockers did.
I guess if Zoe is spayed, maybe having her registered is not of any real value, is it?

Oh thank you SO much for the information! I'm interested not only in the genes and appearance and behavior but Chloe was not well for the first year and vets were curious as to her breed background, looking for clues. I've seen done huge gorgeous Australians too! I have noticed the difference in the Australian coat. I have up researching a while ago because I couldn't find much information. Over 45 years ago I had a cockatoo. Chloe is named for her.

Australians are comprised of 6 breeds: lab, poodle, curly coated retriever, irish water dog, english cocker spaniel and american cocker spaniel. American labradoodles are ONLY lab and poodle. The cocker and the other breeds have given the Aust the curlier, more consistent coat and the smaller size. So back when RM and TP created the Aust LD in the 80's they infused all those breeds. Now the most common infusion to broaden the gene pool is to throw in a cockapoo to sire a litter because that adds in new genes, new colors such as merle but there are parti, beige, etc. There's so much more to it as far as the registrations go and what they recognize and why but if you aren't a breeder you probably wouldn't care, lol. I am so I understand but don't necessarily agree. If you're interested feel free to email me directly.

Everyone asks me how Chloe could be so small at ten pounds She is from Aladdin and Scrufillia. I was under the impression that the smaller labradoodle from Australia used water spaniels to create a smaller breed. Is that what a merle is?
