I saw something about elephants and mirrors recently, maybe on DK. This is all interesting but I too think the interpretation can be tricky.

Yeah... I can definitely see that.

Luca would get crazy about his own reflection when he was young but I guess he now knows it is himself he sees but he does sometimes look in a full length mirror. He still hasn't worked out that animals on TV pose no threat.

Darwin still tries to play with his reflection - it's pretty hilarious. He usually just treats TV animals with an ear perk, although he will occasionally walk up to the tv and stick his nose right up against it watching them.

When my dogs were young they reacted to seeing themselves in the mirror.  Nowadays it is no big deal.
