I am sick of the rain and clouds. Today is the Summer Solstice - The First Day of Summer.

Well, where the heck is it? My air conditioning should be on by now. My boys and doggies should be in the pool by now. I should have a tan. NOT. Wet dogs, muddy footprints. Bad hair days...WHEN WILL SUMMER GET HERE? It's supposed to rain all week here in the NorthEast. ARRRGGGG...

Are any of you having summer yet? Tell us what it feels like:

We have had nothing but rain here, but the temperatures have finally climbed into the 70's...not a good thing under the circumstances. The humidity is 100%. You cannot breathe outside, the air is liquid and clammy, there are streets closed and flooding everywhere, and the bugs are multiplying before your eyes. The weeds are planning to declare statehood.
I don't think we have had a full day without rain for weeks. Friday, it stormed all day, culminating with a power outage from 7 pm Friday til 2 am Saturday. Raining again as I type. Getting the doodle out for a walk requires strategy previously unseen outside of war zones. Last night, it was so humid, it was like trying to breathe underwater. Jack wanted to turn back towards home after two blocks, even though we were walking with one of his favorite girlfriends. (I was embarrassed at his wussiness, lol)
Summer...where are you?????
Here too!

It seems like perpetual April Showers! In June! The calendar says June...the temps and weather says April.

The other day, I had to actually turn the heat on in the house to get the dampness out. I am so totally sick of it. While I was still in school, it wasn't too bad at least the classrooms were cool. But now...but now...

Where is SUMMER?
Of course!
Here in Southwest of Ontario it is nice and sunny, the temperature is approaching the 80°! The sun is suppose to stay with us at least for the rest of the week and we will get to the high 80° with the effect of humidity!

So YES!! Summer is here and we do enjoy every second of it!

I'm so so so sorry ;-( for you poor people from Northeast of USA!!!

At least, take it positively... you don't need to water your garden!!

Am I sarcastic... NOOOOOO!
How about some sympathy for those of us in the Chicagoland area, too?
No, I don't need to water my garden...I just have to break my back pulling the *@!!*$!* weeds!!!!
On Friday, we had about 2 hours of clouds but no rain so the boys and I used that time to weed whack, clip, prune and try to cut back the woods that are threatening to take over the property. We sweated our way to clear the brambles that had already overtaken 10 x-mas trees we planted along the property line when the boys were babies. We were all scratched and bloodied, but pushed them back. Now, we are supposed to get rain all week and we will have to do it again. Usually, by this time of SUMMER, it's dry and they don't grow so fast without a lot of water.

On the bright side, I have not had to water my tomato's, yet. BUT I WANT SUMMER, NOW!
Ok, deep in the heart of Texas.....here is the 7-day forecast as told by my favorite weatherman: Mon-101, Tues-101, Wed-102, Thurs-103, Fri-101, Sat-100, Sun-100 no clouds, no rain.....all the sun you can wish for and heat like you wouldn't believe! We spend our down time in the water at the waterpark, river, lake....anywhere to try and avoid this heat! Oh, and I am not complaining.....I would be terribly depressed if I had all the clouds and rain!
We are depressed, can you send some of that up here? PLEASE.....?
My new DH just moved here from CT a little over a year ago....so all this heat and high temps is very new to him. His daughter called him yesterday and just went on and on about the awful rainy weather....he says he doesn't miss it at all. I told her she should just come down here for a break from the rain....she said she couldn't handle the 100s. Once it gets above 95, it all feels the same, lol.
YEAH, BUT. . .OK 100's IS too hot. But by now I should have a tan. I should have been to the beach a few times. It has rained for three weeks everyday. There are mushrooms growing in the lawn! It's so depressing.
Yeah, my tan is coming along nicely....oops, I shouldn't be rubbing that in! My daughter is a lifeguard, she is ridiculously dark! She and my DH are going to CT in July....it will be her first experience with summer in the northeast...I still can't convince that she needs to pack jeans (not just shorts) and a jacket....she thinks I am crazy.
AND pack a sweater, a raincoat and SOCKS.
She will be find without boots though!
