Actually, the number is much higher. Something like 280. Right now they are being bathed, evaluated and vetted. Probably for the first time in their lives, they are being handled and loved by human hands. Many will be spayed or neutered and taken care of. We are directly in contact with those who have them so we will let you know once any decisions have been made. It will probably be a week or two. Sadly, about 200 are doodles and poodles.
That's great news! I'll bet there were a lot of rescues kind of "on alert" for years, just waiting for this guy to finally get busted. Do you know if they are all in the Pennsylvania area? If any are coming to IL, I'd love to try to help.
I hope none went to Gentle Giants in Norco. That's just the opportunity they'd pounce on so they exploit these poor dogs yet again. They're big on "doodles" now.
Mixed blessing I guess. I know there are loads of people in Cali who would love one of them, but it's better that those poor dogs don't have to travel either. I hope they find homes very soon!
I don't have that info. It will be a few weeks, at least before they are evaluated, vetted and socialized. As I know more, I'll post it.
The DRRC took home one of his dogs yesterday, Finnigan. I just started a group over there to highlight the dogs we can get into our own program. We had to leave behind a very sweet, white female yesterday, that broke my heart. She is 4 years old and probably had about 10 litters. Very scared and skittish. We have some folks going to look at her this weekend, but I would have taken her yesterday if we had the room for her. I held up really well until leaving, her sad eyes, I'll never forget.
I hope the devil is preparing a very special place in hell, just for Skip Ekert.
I don't know where all of those rescues are located, but if there are need for the transportation from the rescue to the foster in the area, I am availble. I am about 4 hours from Harrisburg. Not too far.
