We have been feeding Myla Acana Heritage Cobb Chicken and Greens for a long time now.  She loves it and does really well on it - the problem is me - I think she might like a change.  I would love to switch up her "flavours" once in a while.  I find the price differences a bit overwhelming.  I pay $56. for a 25 pound bag and that is fine but when I look to buy a different "flavour" it starts at $73. a bag.  The only different one that is in the same price range is the Heritage "Adult Large Breed".  When I am in the store, I second guess myself and think "does she really need a change that costs $20. more per bag?".  I have two questions.  Do you think that the Heritage Adult Breed would be a 'change" for her and if not, do you think that she needs a change?  She gets fed twice a day and absolutely loves her food - if we don't happen to know it's 6:00 pm she will start "talking" to let us know it's time to be fed and she gobbles it up immediately.

I'd say leave well enough alone. I rotate Acana grain free but I really don't think the dogs care.

That's what I'm thinking - especially at the price difference.  DH says just switch up her treats which I think I might do!  Thanks F.!

I agree with F. If it ain't broke...

The reason for the difference in pricing may be the protein percentages in the different lines. The higher the amount of protein, the higher the food is usually priced.

Good to know!  I think I will leave it!  Thanks Karen!

We switched from Orijen to Acana due to price, but our local pet store has re-priced both of these Champion products and Orijen now costs less and Acana more.  We are switching back and forth and the dogs seem to like the change. However the cheapest we can find any of the Orijen or Acana's is $75+ range.

I live in BC, Canada so maybe that is the difference?  I think Acana was made in Acana originally.  I know that when I started looking at dogfood after being on this website, Orijen was way more expensive than Acana -  I haven't priced it since buying Acana but I will definitely look now and see (and let you know).

It will be interesting to see if it is my local store only or not.

I just re-read this and I meant to say that Acana was made in Canada originally lol

I knew that was what you meant. As Laurie would say, I'm a jenius, lol. :)

I knew what you meant also!  Does that make me a jenius too?  :-}

Yes! We are all jeniuses! LOL

I rotate Acana and Orijen here in Ireland but they had an offer where if you bought seven bags of the same weight of Acana you got the eight free. What I didn't realise was that when I got to the sixth bag Acana changed the weight of the bag from 13kg to 11... I don't know why I didn't notice but I did notice we were running out faster Lol  It was only when I went to claim my free eight bag that they told me sorry but you didn't buy all the same weight bags!!! I then pointed out that 13kg size was no longer available and to cut a long story short after a phone call the following day with the manager of the store group I did get the free bag. The varieties have changed a lot in the Acana range here but the boys seem very happy so I'm not concerned. Here Acana is a good deal cheaper than Orijen.
