Can't eat dog food

We would like to take a trip to a state park with my puppy Morgan. The only thing is she still can not eat dog food. She eats a boiled meat, rice, and a vegtable at every meal. 3x;s a day.   How am I ever going to get her over to eat dog food. I try orijen puppy and she loves it. But gets diarrhea. I also tried natural instinct lamb and peas...diarrhea. I can not see me cooking on the road.  What do you suggest?

I just wanted to add that the behaviors you describe are totally normal puppy behaviors. If you're not already in the "Puppy Madness" group on here, you definitely might want to consider it. It helped me immensely when I felt like something was wrong with our puppy cuz of all his crazy behaviors. Doodles are their own special blend of breeds and have many funny, interesting, and extremely exhausting behaviors. All totally normal. Other people have also posted about their dogs digging holes, so you may want to search for that discussion to see recommendations. She is a really adorable pup!

thank you for replying. I am in the Puppy Madness group and I am learning that my Morgan is normal. At times she is very hard to handle and just knowing other puppies act the same was a help.

Which Acana Singles formula did you choose? There are 3 different formulas, lamb, duck, or pork?

Hi,  sounds like a good plan.  Good luck with your puppy.

Our puppy had  a little bout with diarrhea. We did give her rice, mixed in with a bit of puppy food.  She liked the warm rice right off of the stove or re-warmed from the microwave, and I mixed it with kibble, little bits at  a time, slowly increasing kibble and decreasing rice.  Her stools hardened and we weaned her off the rice and gave her kibble.  She still eats the kibble and her stools are back to normal..  She is not allergic to grain.

She also had worms when we first got her. After she recovered and was reasonably house trained we steam cleaned the carpets.
