Thanks for doing this, Elizabeth. I'm not familiar with the goldendoodles.com feeding calculator, but the feeding amounts for these foods would vary greatly because they all have different calorie amounts. How are the feeding amounts calculated?

Sorry, I should have clarified their methodology. The feeding calculator on goldendoodles.com calculates the cost per day based off your dog's caloric requirements and the food's kcal/kg, kg or lb per bag, and bag price. I sourced the kcal/kg information from each brand's website so the information should be correct unless I imputed the data incorrectly.

Wow, Elizabeth, you really did a lot of work! Thank you!

Wow!

Impressive work, Elizabeth. Thank you so much for informing all of us about this.
Anytime, I've received so mush useful info here it's the least I could do! I started doing the calculations just out of curiosity as I see so many people feeding low quality food and I wanted to know if there was a significant difference in cost. I was excited that so many of the DK recommended brands came in lower than the lower quality brands. High quality food doesn't even cost more in the short term! Now if only I could get all of my non-doodle friends on board...

Elizabeth,

This is fantastic. Thank you. I don't have EXCEL on this computer but I did convert this into a table.  Just need to figure out how to add it here.

Would love to have an ongoing spreed sheet and add more brands

Rough Draft, but clearly we could see.

Elizabeth, if you do the food, I'll do the graphic tables.  Again, nice work and thank you

Opps. Even though the numbers are correct the last column should say, ' Cost Per Day' not ' price per pound.
Wild Prairie costs more per day than Origen. Interesting.
There are several good foods listed that are a much better price. Great information to have on hand
Hope you do add more!!!
This is fabulous! This type of info is perfect for a table. I posted this info from my iPad so the formatting was really basic, next time I'll do it from my computer. I would love to add more, I'll have to look into others. Any suggestions?

One of the TOTW formulas would be great. A Wellness CORE GF formula, maybe, and one from Canidae's Pure line? Or Natural balance's Alpha line?  I don't ask for much, lol!

Even with the rising costs it is still pretty cheap to feed a dog a good quality food.  What can you do in life that costs less than $2.00 per day?  You can't even buy 1 meal at McDonald's for that price.
