Sit on it, Donna :) LOL
Yep, I guess that would smush it. :>)))))))))))
My issue with the oven method is that it seems like a tremendous waste of energy (money) to have your oven going for the required period of time, which is why I have the cheapo dehydrator.
I agree, and I'm also not sure that leaving the cooked potatoes in the oven overnight is a good idea from a food safety standpoint.
Our Monty loves sweet potatoes raw.
Sweet potatoes or yams are one of the most healthy foods out there - both for us and for our dogs. We don't use them as treats but, I cook a sweet potato (or yam depending on which is on sale) concoction along with London Broil and carrots. When the London Broil is on sale we buy quantities of it, cube it and freeze it. Then we cook the mixture in a crock pot and puree it in a Cuisinart. We use it for a topping on our dogs kibble.
We are very careful about not letting our dogs ingest anything harmful. However, we kept our sweet potatoes or yams in a plastic bin on the lower shelf of our pantry. One of our Maltese knocked over the bin and ate half of a large yam. We thought that she would have loose stool but, apparently, except for an orange colored face, the yam didn't bother her a bit.
This dog is the only one of our dogs who will beg for pieces of yam when I am cutting them up to prepare the kibble topping.
If you are not making the treats Sadie loves them raw or cooked a bit in the microwave.
