I gave Riley an orange Whimzee yesterday and today she vomited hard orange chunks. She gets one every few weeks so the treat isn't new but the vomiting is. Her poop also had a gray filmy substance on it. (Sorry for the gory details.) Concerned these could puncture her insides if she isn't chewing them enough. Has anyone had experience with this? Thanks!

It seems that other dogs are having trouble digesting Whimzees as well. Here's a recent post from someone else who had a similar problem: http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/thefoodgroup/forum/topics/whimzee...

I don;t know if they've changed the ingredients or what, but I'd stop giving them.

I don't believe it could possibly cause a puncture in her digestive tract so I wouldn't worry about that.

Thanks for the link! I don't give her bones because of all the warnings on here so I'm not sure what else to feed her to clean her teeth. Brushing periodically isn't enough. We also use a spray that has done a fair job. Would you have any suggestions? Wondering if I give her smaller ones if she could digest better...although the fact they are like wax makes me wonder if they are really healthy. What do you give JD?

According to Jack's vets (he has multiple vets as he is a "special needs" doodle, lol) the best and safest way to clean their teeth is by brushing them. I was told to do it three times a week, and to focus on the outer surfaces. I do also give him antlers because he has a need to chew, and there are just too many other things he can't have or do. I know there is a risk of his breaking a tooth, but the benefits outweigh the risks for this particular dog and our this particular situation. He's 11 years old with major health issues, and quality of life at this point is our main concern.

Yogi had trouble with the whimzees also. I stopped giving them. We just use antlers and femur bones now. Wish there was a perfect solution out there.
My one dog doesn't do well with the coloured whimzees, my other guy is fine with them. I have bought their ?rice chews (they are natural coloured and shaped like a bone) and he has done fine with those.
Thanks everyone. That is the first colored one she's had in awhile. Maybe there's something in the coloring. Guess we'll have to stick to toothpaste. :-)
