Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I have a 32lb 5mo labradoodle. I was told she would be medium size between 45 & 50lbs. I’ve been feeding her Orijen Puppy. I’m wondering if I should be feeding her what I’m currently feeding her or the Large Breed Puppy.

No, you don't need to feed large breed variation.  Large breed foods are for the REALLY large dogs that need longer to mature, not those in the 50 pound range.

Thank you. I was concerned because I thought Cocoa was going to end up being much larger than I was told. I’m learning that different breeds grow at different rates. I wanted to make sure I was feeding her accurately according to her size.

Nancy is correct. The "large breed" formulas are really intended for the giant breeds who take 24 months to reach full skeletal growth.
