Your Pet Supply Store May Match On-line Prices...Who Knew?

I just got back from my local Pet Supplies Plus and I'm still in a daze. 

I knew that the store did price matching, I've seen the signs for years. "We Will Not Be Undersold". But I thought that meant they would match the prices at other local stores. Never did I dream that they would match prices with...AMAZON!

I can hardly believe it. I've been paying 19.98 for a 6.2 oz bag of chicken Pure Bites, which JD goes through in 3 and a half days, for several years. Today I got them for 13.88 each!!!! That's a 30% savings! 

I would never have known. The sale had already been rung up. Two bags, 43.96 total. As I pulled out my debit card, I griped about how much it was costing me to keep this dog in treats and mentioned that I would order them online but I was afraid they would get all smushed up in shipping. The sales clerk asked if they were less expensive on-line; I said I was sure they were. So she pulled out her phone and checked Amazon, and then she called the manager over to void the sale so she could ring it up at the lower price. My jaw is still on the floor and I'm like "What? What? I'm...you're...WHAT?" 

Manager: "You didn't know we match prices?"

Stunned Doodle Owner: "Humma, humma, I thought that meant other stores' prices".

Manager: "And Amazon's prices." 

I still can't get over this! I'm going to save at least $50 a month on treats!!! Why on earth didn't I think to look into this sooner???

So if your local pet supply store "matches prices", do yourself a favor and ask them whose prices that includes. There might be big savings in your future, too!

That's amazing!!!! I have yet to use pure bites. I always passed them by because of the cost. I will look into this for sure. Although I doubt our tight wad Canadian stores will allow it. Oh what I would do to get chewy to ship here!!
