Preparation for therapy work is never ending. I thought in our training, using wheel chairs, walkers, crutches, keeping them away from tennis balls, lots socialization, distractions, etc., you name it that we would be so prepared when I came time to start visiting. Now I wasn't so crazy as to think we wouldn't encounter strange things, but it seems every visit we get a surprise. Today it was "gloves". We encountered 2 patients in wheelchairs that had the gloves (with the fingers cut out) that just totally threw Sophie off. The poor man said "I don't think she likes me" and I felt so bad. I told him that I thought she was confused by his gloves, and so he took one off and put that had out and then she was fine. It wasn't 5 mins before we encountered this again and she backed away again. But she finally warmed up a little with that patient. You can just never be too prepared! Today was a good day though. We met a lot of happy people that were happy to see us.

today my girl got a little weird with the ripping off of the papertowel from the dispenser. go figure the strange things they are bothered by???? yet we can bike along the roadways and they don't skip a beat when a huge truck or bus goes by them!
