Looking for a training program in the Dallas area

Hi,

I live in the uptown Dallas area and I would like to get my 6 month old puppy, Jax, in a training program in the area. I would like to stay away from shock collars. I hope to eventually get him certified to be a therapy dog. So if anyone knows about therapy dog classes as well that would be great. But for now I'm looking for obedience train and leash training.

Look for AKC training clubs in your area. If you go to the AKC website you can do a search for your area.

I Googled and found what looks like a great Therapy Dog Organization in your area.  It's "Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs", and they visit schools, hospitals and other facilities.  It is a certified 501C3 organization so there is structure to this group.  I would contact them and ask for their advice about trainers in your area.  They will likely know of trainers that are running obedience training geared toward evaluating and training therapy dogs.  If you Google their website you will see that there is a contact name with an email.  Good luck!
