DH and I just booked a weekend at the Lodge in Sedona where they were very accommodating to Bosco.  I neglected to inquire, however, about dog friendly restaurants in the area. If anyone has been to the area I'd be interested in hearing recommendations.

OK! I'll reply to my own post should any dog travelers consider scouting out Sedona themselves. We went this past weekend and had a fantastic time. Stayed at the charming Lodge at Sedona where Bosco was greeted with his very own welcome bag, complete with dog biscuits, dog sitter and restraurant recommendations, and disposable "hygiene" bags. We got to our room, which was like an attached cabin with an adjoining outdoor deck, to find it equipped with a doggie bed and bowl. There is an area on the premises that is reserved for dog walking -- although there is not much room in the area and there are several prickly pears, cactus with sharp thorns at dog level obviously not the best choice. But the grounds are lovely to stroll around and Bosco was welcome for meals on the patio; in fact, the chef even made him scrambled eggs for Sunday brunch.

We found Ken's Creekside to be very accommodating, so much so that we had lunch there both days of our stay. Again, this is of course outdoors but all wait staff were very friendly and made sure Bosco was immediately served with a large bowl of water as soon as we sat down each day.

There are great hiking trails in the area, but again care must be taken due to the desert climate and cactus growth; snakes could be another potential issue.  However, for us, it was an ideal weekend away with our "baby".
