Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

30 days ago I was invited by my breeder friend April to participate in 30 days of thanks.  It has been a very powerful tool in my life.  It has been a difficult year, for many of us, and I have to share how refreshing it has been to be so intently focused on what you are thankful for.  Thankfulness never left but sometimes we allow ourselves to become so distracted by that which threatens to rob us of the awareness of all that we have to be thankful for.  By participating in 30 days of thanks we were asked to post something on our facebook page every day that we we thankful for.  Some days it was hard to select what you wished to share about because of so many thankful opportunities that popped up and yet other days you had to dig through a lot more weeds to find that flower of thankfulness blooming from your heart.  30 days of thanks has been a lot like clearing the weeds in my life, given a little more room to grow and with more nurturing a single flower of thankfulness can quickly swell into a lovely garden, it did not cause any of the difficulties to go away but they no longer had room to grow and that twist in perspective changes EVERYTHING.

Today I am accutely aware of so very many things to be thankful for but for this morning of thankfulness I was drawn to our family here first with no internet detours upon booting up.  I often ponder how thankful I am that we have a tool like doodlekisses to nurture friendships and share that which we have in common with those we now call friends and family, without it even the common link of our related doodles might never provide the opportunity to cross paths.  Despite geographical boundaries, a wide variety of ages, assorted seasons of life, differing economic status, polar opposite careers and interests we have been knit together by a common thread.  Some visit with more frequency but all are welcome at all times and each of you have been ambassadors of rolling out that welcome mat.

I know well what some of our family members have faced over the last year or so.  There have been lost loved ones both human and furkids, lost jobs, major relocations - sometimes even separating family members for a time, illness, disease, relationship changes and more.  Even in this we can stand together and come back home to a very doodley soft landing as if we had never departed because with friends that is how it goes.  Through challenges there are always opportunities, always flowers of thankfulness to be revealed and someone we may call friend who at times gently reminds us of this either directly or unknowingly through their own actions.

Today my wish for each of you is not for new blessings but for the acute awareness of how blessed we already are, on this path your abundant future blessings will swell to unimaginable  proportion.

Blessings ~ Dianne

P.S.  By all means please feel free to share your own thankfulness posts here!
