Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi, I was born in Vermont in the 70s, but my folks are French Canadians who moved here in the late 60s when my Dad got a job out of Sherbrooke at IBM. So technically I'm a native, but not a multiple generation Vermonter. I grew up in posh Chittenden County (Essex Town to be exact), and went to school with our featured Breeder, Jennifer of *Grandview*! Which by the way is how I heard of Doodles in the first place! (I checked out her website through facebook!) After HS & USMC I met and married a 5th generation Dairy Farmer waaaaaaaaaaaaay down in Addison County; where (by the way), if you're not a multiple generation native Bridporter, you'll likely never be considered, "from around here." LOL Thankfully, my children are considered "from around here". Farm life is different than suburbia for sure, but I wouldn't trade it for anything, and after 3 years in So-Cal; I knew VT was where I wanted to be for the long haul, what about you all?

Good topic Nancy!! I lived in Fairfax, VT for my first year (where my parents both grew up), then lived in Barre all through high school, went to UVM, then lived in VA and NC for a total of 15 years (with one child born in each state) before returning to South Burlington 10 yrs ago. Met my husband at UVM and he is originally from Derby Line, VT with French-Canadian heritage. So, guess that more than answers the question!...native Vermonter :o)
