Hi Diane! thanks so much for the birthday wishes! yes - I can NOT wait for this year to end! VERY rough class this year (if you can believe that from a bunch of 7 year olds). Very difficult home situations this year which usually goes along with the problemed behavior. but only 9 more school days left! Tori's good... she too is very "young spirited" but still has her issues with UPS, visitors and people strolling by - but other than that - She is SUCH a GREAT dog! HAWAII!!!! YAY! Bet yo can't wait! when are yo going again?! We went to Oahu for three nights and then to Maui for 6. We LOVED Maui - we had been to Oahu for our honeymoon, but really wanted to take the kids to see Pearl Harbor and the Polynesian Cultural Center. We had thought we would take a day trip to the Big Island to see the volcano erupting but it wasn't active when we were there, so never got there - too much to do. gives us and 'excuse' to go back. this year we are traveling to alaska - can't wait! Let me know ALL about your trip! I'm so excited for you! who's taking care of ringo while you're gone? I am so lucky to have my in-laws to watch tori... just makes going away easier. "talk soon" - Shelly
HI Diane! I was just thinking of you! Tori's good... she still gets WAY too hyper when people come to my door.....Ugh! YES! Hawaii was wonderful! We went to oahu for 3 nights (did Pearl Harbor and the Polynesian Cultural Center) then went over to Maui for 6 nights... It was beautiful... beautiful sunsets every night. So much to do there! We did the Road to Hana (tour - that's better than driving yourself - they really point out celebs' houses and other history), we did ziplining on the request of my younger son - it was great! There is also Haleaka Crater - we didn't get to do that - next time :O)
But I'll tell you - they BEST price was through COSTCO - they have specific packages for Hawaii.... most reasonable and best for your money. We did the Hyatt package and were VERY happy with both hotels! You can actually choose your own flights, and rearrange some of the hotels if you'd like. We even included a car on both islands. Enjoy the planning! Let me know if you need any other information!!!!
