VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

This group was formed to encourage people to volunteer their services, time and expertise to non-profit groups. We hope to provide a forum for volunteers to share their experiences and stories. It is our greatest desire to encourage you to give generously (time, service, and funds) to the non-profit of your choice. Please join and participate!

 

Non-profit groups can be small organizations or successful corporations. Volunteer opportunities are unlimited!

 

Examples of volunteer work:

 

·        Serving on Board of Directors

·        Day to day operations

·        One time project fulfillment

·        Bookkeeping

·        Volunteer Coordinator

·        Grant Writing

·        Fund Raising

·        Web Development

·        Puppy Raising

·        Media

·        Finance

·        Community Outreach

·        Dog Walking, Puppy Petting

·        Construction Work

·        Landscaping

·        Advisory Committees

Opportunities are limited only by imagination because the needs are great, especially for small non-profits (such as the Gabby Jack Ranch!)

 

How do YOU benefit from volunteer work?

 

The answer is that you benefit in a number of ways. 

 

Most importantly, you have satisfaction of contributing to a worthwhile cause. 

 

You are adding valuable experience and references to your resume.

 

You may learn skills that will help you obtain employment or change your field of work.

 

Your time may be calculated as a donation and may entitle you to an income tax deduction (check with your accountant).

 

You may directly or indirectly influence the lives of those less fortunate than you.

 

Volunteer work is extremely personally rewarding.

 

This group is not geared toward one particular non-profit, although I will certainly discuss the Gabby Jack Ranch because we have plenty of opportunities. Please submit your stories, questions, ideas for any and all non-profit groups. This discussion is not limited to any particular type of organization; all non-profit volunteers are valuable and welcome here!
