Hi, just a quick question.  If all goes well, I should be picking up my standard size labradoodle puppy in November.  i will be flying from NYC to North Carolina to pick up the puppy and will bring it on the plane.  What size Sherpa bag did you purchase.  I'm hoping the medium size sherpa will be big enough and I know you will be transporting a sheepadoodle puppy, which I assume is large.

What stage in the wait are you? The puppies were born last week, so 7 weeks to go

What type of doodle? F1 Goldendoodle

Color or gender preferences? I would love a red doodle, and it looks like most of the puppies have reddish coats. I originally wanted a male, but the litter is 4 female 2 male. Personality will be much more important at this point ;)

Any names chosen? I have a page of names for each gender, we will probably decide on names when we know male or female.

Any favorite puppy items purchased? No puppy stuff yet, but I have quite a few books. My favorites right now are "The Art of Raising a Puppy" and "Perfect Puppy in 7 Days." I also picked up a Puppy Training for Kids book for my older kids to read and I am reading it to the younger kids. I figure when the puppy gets here we will have less free time. So we are trying to get as much information and resources now to make it easier to troubleshoot or prevent issues in the future.

I am now 2 days away from getting our puppy! It is amazing how slowly the time has gone these past few months since we started the wait. I am so grateful for all the information available here on Doodlekisses and know that it will be a great resource in the months and years to come.

Hi Jenn, thanks for setting up this discussion.  I am so excited about getting our 8-week old miniature Aussiedoodle on Sept. 26!  We have picked a female blue merle pup.  She will probably be around 30 lbs. as an adult.  I am thinking of Dash as her name.  My husband is not sure about that name; we may end up going with another name.  I've purchased a bunch of puppy toys, nylabones for puppies, healthy treats for puppies, kongs and other sturdy & stuffable toys.  

I've been learning about puppy care, development, socialization and training.  Has anyone heard of "Kikopup" on YouTube? She uses only positive methods and has many free training videos on YouTube.  We've only ever had adult shelter dogs so raising an 8-week old puppy will be a new experience for us.  Thanks to all who post here - I've been learning a lot!

Our puppy can come home in two and a half weeks, we are anxiously awaiting this:). He is an F3 mini goldendoodle. He is a boy and is tan/apricot with white markings on his face and all four feet. His name is Bentley and we already have a small crate but have not purchased anything else. We will probably be doing that in the next week or so.
