Well the litter was a singleton born on Friday.  No females.  After much thought and consultation with the vet about singleton litters and issues that are are prevalent among them, thinking about why we wanted a girl pup rather than the males we usually go for and weighing that with the fact it wasn't one of our top color picks either, we have decided to pass on this pup and wait for a litter being born next week to a different set of parent dogs with similar characteristics from the same breeder.  We had to make some compromises, but not on things that seem critical.  Feel badly for the breeder and hope the momma dog does well too.  Nature is in charge here, not the humans and sometimes Mother Nature just shows us that!  Hoping the singleton male pup finds the right fit home, which I am sure the breeder will make happen.  Kinda sad about it but glad to have other options.
