It has felt like the past few months have gone soooo slowly waiting for Lacey to come home, and we don't even know which puppy she is yet in our Monday Puppy pictures from our breeder. It sounds crazy, but we are already in love with this pup and we don't even know her!!!

Finally on March 15th we will be able to go visit our breeder and pick her out. We already know that we are on the list for a girl so that has been decided. This is our first puppy as a couple and there are just so many unknowns.

I guess I'm asking if anyone has any advice for the rest of this process? What should we look for when we are picking her out? Are there certain behaviors we should pay attention for when meeting her?

If you have any suggestions at all it would truly help! Oh and she is somewhere in this picture, that we do know! Thank you! in advance for all your help!!!!

Congratulations and have fun choosing Lacey on the 15th!  We will be bringing our pup home on the 15th!  We just met him for the first time this past Saturday.  Our breeder asked us to give her our preferences based on what we wanted in personality, and other attributes, and also by the photos.  We knew we wanted a boy, but what was most important was being as hypoallergenic as possible (my husband has allergies to dogs), so we asked for a curly-haired coat if possible.  There was one boy in particular that we all loved from the photos.  He wasn't necessarily the cutest - I am mean how can you even really pick that way, because they are all so darn cute!  But there was just something about him.  When we got to the breeders and she took him out we knew instantly that he was the right one for our family (the breeder said that from our email discussions she thought he was the best fit for us as well).  She offered to show us the rest but we declined.  We did end up meeting all of the other 7 puppies when they were brought out when the mom was brought over by the guardian family.  We still loved our Hugo best.  What we loved about him was how comfortable he was with us right away.  He snuggled right in our laps.  After a bit he became more adventurous and got down and start playing and exploring - he had just the right amount of mischief in him.  What sealed the deal for me was after his mom got there and all of the other pups were out and they were all running after mom, Hugo finally got tired of all of the activity and came right over to me.  I picked him up and he just snuggled right back in my arms.  I was in love.  So, I don't know how we ever chose the right dog for us through a photo and discussions with the breeder, but somehow we did.  Good luck with choosing.  I know way back when we had cats each one of them chose us, so I think that often does happen.

That's so exciting! Congrats on your new arrival. Definitely keep me posted on what it's like to bring Hugo home. It is those first few nights that I'm most nervous for. I am also allergic so I am hoping we have one in the litter that does have curly hair, however right now they look wavy at 3 1/2 weeks. That is such a memorable story. I can't wait to finally meet Lacey. I hope we have that same initial bond! Good luck next weekend!

Hi Kristen!

Congrats on your little bundle! I am meeting my little puppy on Monday and I know what you mean about being in love with a puppy you don't even know! I have my little guy all picked out based on energy level (he's somewhere in the middle of the litter.) He's the puppy in my profile picture. We have named him Omar. I agree that the time goes by slowly when you are waiting for a puppy, especially these last two weeks!

Anyway, I am very excited for both of us!!!! :)

HI Rosella!

Thank you so much and congrats to you too! It has been such an exciting process but at this point we just want to have her home. We already have her crate, toys, and bowls all in place - now all we need is her! I absolutely love the name Omar; that is adorable and he is precious. How big is the breeder expecting him to be? Is he an F1?  Lacey is an F1 English Goldendoodle. We expect her to be between 45 and 50 pounds, except I have a feeling she might be bigger than that. Tomorrow is our Puppy Picture Monday so I can't wait to get new pics and share them.

When is Omar coming home? Is he coming home Monday or are you just doing the meet and greet with him then? Either way its so exciting and I wish you luck! Enjoy the experience and please keep us all updated on your little guy! :)
