Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We put our wish list and paid our deposit to our selected breeder for an Australian Fleece Labradoodle in the beginning of Feb.

Its only been 4 months and im not sure how much longer the wait will be as there is a wait list. We are hoping to have one by september as there are a few upcoming litters.

My partner will no longer listen to me drone on about our puppy and my family and friends are almost at the same point.

So i want to know, what do you all do to make the wait easier?

Can you get one somewhere else? I guess not without forfitting your deposit. I wouldnt tolerate a wait that long. My pup was already born when I made the purchase agreement.
Well i dont want a puppy from anywhere else. I was made aware of how long the wait would be before i paid my deposit, i just didnt think it would be this hard to wait!
I haven't seen ANY breeders that make you wait that long. Why are you so set on this particular breeder?

I decided to get another puppy in April/May and I get him in July. For both puppies, it was receiving pictures every week that kept me going but I guess you can't even get that.
Hi Linda,

Well im in Australia, and a fairly remote part at that, there really arent that many labradoodle breeders so that in turn means the wait is longer if there is high demand. Also im after a particular coat type and that also lengthens the wait.
You are "hoping" to have one by September? Now, is this assuming that the litter will be a certain size? And if not in September, then, when?? If you are waiting for a year, you may as well just get it out of your brain or you will drive everyone in your life whacko! LOL! I hope you are not getting your hopes up to high.....
Oops, I cut myself off. I was saying I hope you are not getting your hopes up too high.....sometimes the litters can be small and if they are only breeding one dame, and that is the one you want, they should only breed it once a year. So that means you could be waiting til September 2010. So, maybe put it on the back burner unless you have more information. I was looking for a rescue and was prepared to wait a year. But that was so much easier than when I had found one for our family. I was driving myself nuts and I only had to wait 4 weeks to bring him home. I don't think I could have waited 7 months!!! That would be torture.
Good Luck!
