Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Just thought I'd throw this book out there for those waiting for puppies who are exploring different ways of training. The author is in my area and also offers puppy classes at a variety of sites in the Bay Area. Bailey/Maggie is signed up to go. There are a lot of suggestions in this book that I found interesting and pretty helpful. I'm going to try it out for myself. He covers crate training, early feeding, chew toy training, and bite inhibition and others. He is definitely a positive rewards kind of guy. He also makes his book available online I believe. If someone wants me to go in to detail about what he says about a specific topic let me know.
I'm not the type that puts all her eggs in one basket. I read Cesar Millan's How To Raise The Perfect Puppy and got a lot out of that too. Basically I am trying to take what makes sense to me and seems to work consistently with each other and try those things out. Most likely will adjust when real life situations come in to play and it isn't just theory anymore.
