Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I just joined and explained that we lost our 13 year old springer 4 days ago. I can't quit crying and I know our 7 yr old springer is also mourning. We decided we needed another puppy and found the doodle. What a precious breed. I just hope we can decide which one we want soon and someone reliable and hopefully since we are retired not so expensive (slightly more affordable). Yet, I want one that has a healthy background and health certified. Joined this group because we are all trying to find a doodble to join our family.

Welcome to the site, and sorry about your springer spaniel. It is always difficult to lose a beloved pet . You can find lots of good breeders on goldendoodles.com , and you can read about qualifications for the same, on the site and on a site called IDOG. You may be able to find a breeder that is local to you which does help in the process sometimes. Have a nice day! Kathryn lee, www.makewayfordoodles.com
I wanted to thank everyone for your replies. I have been researching breeders for the past several hours and your input has really helped to look at other sites. I wanted to adopt but my husband is totally against it because we have a very young grandson about to start crawling and he is fearful that we will not be able to trust an older dog. I understand and totally agree that we cannot take any chances. I love this site and the ability to acquire info about these precious doodles whether golden or lab. Take care all and have a wonderful evening.
Hi,

really sorry to hear about your dog passing away. My brother breeds springers, they are wonderful dogs. Have you thought about how a young puppy would interact with your baby grandson? Babies/toddlers and puppies together are not always a good combination. An older dog that's used to small children may be much more gentle and tolerate pulling, tugging and poking much better than a puppy would - he/she may think baby is a littermate and nip and scratch a little (and lick a lot!!)... anyway, just another perspective to consider before you give up on adoption!
