After reflecting on the two more chances, neither of them was actually a good fit for us so we sadly also decided to pass on them. It turned out they were both F1 litters and we had planned on an FIB all along. The next F1B litter was not until a time that was not a good fit for us to bring home a puppy. So, we are pondering what to do. At some point it will be clear. My friend who was trying to a adopt a mini at the same time has running a similar issue and is pondering what to do as well. Never dreamed it would be so hard to find the type of pup we wanted within a reasonable driving distance.
Thank you so much for your encouragement Sooner Mom! You are right - its more important to get the right dog - and right temperament - than to rush the process. For me, it will give me more time to puppy proof, organize, and get rid of a lot of unneeded stuff. Hope your two more chances come soon! Thank you again for reaching out.
I hope that you will have a smooth path to getting your doodle. We have had a more difficult time getting a puppy than we anticipated. Nature has not been as cooperative as we hoped. Stay flexible and patient. We are still waiting too. Hopefully the right pup will come along for us soon. We wanted to wait until we had time to be home with the new puppy. The timing might just not work out for us right now. I'd rather wait than regret it. At my age, I have realized timing is important and I can wait but we started looking and waiting in January for a pup as soon as school was out but then Mother Nature did not come through as we hoped. We have two more chances soon. If these don't work out then I will have to rethink. Good Luck, Nancy!
I just put my deposit down for a multigen labradoodle. The breeder said they don't expect a doodle to be ready until next Nov, Dec or Jan. This will be my first pet (not counting goldfish as a child - they lasted about 2 weeks before the cat ate them.) I'm so looking forward to a companion!
We are looking for a F1B standard Goldendoodle male puppy that will be 70+
lbs in Southern California. Apricot, cream or red color. Most of the doodles around here are medium size.
We are looking for a doodle - golden, or labra -our oldest kid is a running but has bad asthma so we need a non-shedder. We would like a 50-60 lbs dog, prefer a girl but we are flexible on that... a slighlty older pup who has some training would be ideal. THANKS
