He is adorable.
I don't know what my opinion is worth, since my little dood is only 19 weeks, but I would guess he may get some smooth waves, like many golden's.
Watson started getting waves and curls down his back around 12 or 13 weeks and shedding his puppy coat around then too. Neighbors have started to ask me if I took him to the groomers for a cut or a shave because so much of his fluffy puppy coat is gone
Welcome to DK! Murph may very well get some Golden waves as he gets a little older. The shedding is really normal since he has so much Golden in him. Golden Retrievers hair gets longer as they get older. They usually get those "feathers" behind their legs and a fluffy tail. he is just going to get more beautiful everyday! My Pippa now has a full "mane" of fluffy hair around her neck as well as the feathers and beautiful fluffy tail. I have lots of pictures on my page if you want to take a look.
Lloyd is 6 months old and is in process of shedding his puppy coat. We get little tumbleweeds in the corners of the house and if you're wearing black, watch out! I do have to say that the shedding has lessened in the last couple of months as he's getting his adult coat. It started with a darker brown racing stripe that is wavy and coarser than the puppy fur. He's also developing his feathering on the back of his legs and tail. His paws are fluffy and so cute when he walks and counter surfs (however, counter surfing is not cute). The adult fur looks to be single coated and not shedding but we shall see what the end result is.
4 months:
wow! Lloyd and my pup, Watson, look so similar around 4 months! We definitely have that racing stripe going on as well and the fluff on the sides are getting wavy and going in different directions
Lloyd is so darn cute! I hope you have this picture enlarged & framed for the whole world to see. He's almost too cute to believe he's real.
Thank you! He's growing up to be quite handsome! And your Wrigley has some gorgeous eyes!
I suspect that Murph will continue to shed. One of my doodles is a huge shedder. We got him at age 2 so I don't know what he was like as a puppy, but over the years (he is 7 now) his shedding has increased. I will say that we have him professionally groomed every 4 - 6 weeks which helps.
