I really like this photo of Pippin as well.  We belong to a couple of meetups, and one of the members took this shot.  Pippin's puppy coat was really soft with the "dread lock" curl on his head, legs and chest.  He's now got more of a poodly/wool patch on his back by his tail, and up his spine.  This patch is getting darker and the rest of him is getting lighter (he started as a really dark red puppy, and is getting more bronze).  His coat was about 4 inches in length by  7 months of age.  I had him groomed to 1 1/2 inches due to his adult coat coming in and due to the fact that he loves water and takes forever to dry with a long coat.  His head still has the "dread lock" curl.  Winson's coat looks very similar to Pippin's at the same age.  Winston is a handsome guy too.  I just love the doodle look.  Oh, I should tell you that Pippin is an F1B (doodle mom/poodle dad, so 3/4 poodle)

What a gorgeous photo! I was looking at Pippin pictures and I believe that Winston does/will have  a similar coat. Winston is 21 weeks old and his hair looks pretty funky right now. Does Pippin have a slightly curlier head than the rest of his body, or is he equal throughout? He's very handsome!
