I have the Nikon D-5000. I just lucked out on this photo. I used the "A" (Automatic setting) because there was so much action, lighting issues, my keeping my footing on icy conditions, etc. The camera did a great job. Though, you should see all the blurry photos I shot too. It is so hard to get the focus on a moving Doodle or child. The camera does have settings for just this type of fast action and tracking which I am currently learning. Lots of the Photo Magazines say a great starter DSL camera is the Nikon D-40. Someone in the Photography Group who is an awesome photographer has hers for sale. She was going to put it on E-Bay so check and see if it is still offered to us DK people.

I love this picture! What kind of camera do you have that a picture like this isn't blurry? I have a toddler and am aboout to have a Doodle puppy so I think I may need to buy the camera you have!

Thanks for the compliment Jane. I am already a member of the Photogroup!!! I am usually the one asking ALL the questions...ha ha. My photos are just lucky. I want to work harder on getting them really sharp and clear so I can blow them up and put them on canvas!!!

I love this shot. We too have to travel to find the snow and we took ours up to the mountain last weekend and the girls had so much fun up there.
Can you tell me on your page how you got the picture that looks like it was painted? It's beautiful. Thanks, Eva
