We just went kayaking for the first time last week and loved it. Alot of work (upstream river). I'll have to get my dog a life vest like yours and take her next time. Great photo!

This is an awesome picture! We took Kai (13 weeks) kayaking for the first time last weekend in Marina Del Rey. He loved it! Actually slept most of the time. Enjoy kayaking with Murphy!!!

I just told him to get in, pulled him around for about two minutes, he didn't panic so I got in and off we went. Murphy loves to ride in the car, boat, gator so I figured he would like the kayak. It took him a half hour or so to figure out he had to sit in the middle to be steady, He just picked up on it.
I got him at Black River Kennel in South Haven Michigan. Good luck in your search for a doodle, they are the best!

How did you teach Murphy to Kayak? We kayak every weekend and would love to teach our new puppy (that we don't have yet) to kayak. Where did you get Murphy?

Kayaking is so easy. The perfect sport, you can make is as relaxing or challenging as you want. If your doodle luvs the water it is a fantastic way to spend time together. Except now if I pull out the kayak he throws a fit if he doesn't get to go;-(

Great picture! Makes me want to start a new hobby so we can have interesting doodle pictures.

It is a perception, I'll check the model for you. It is a tandem and is perfect for taking the doodle, very stable he could easily get in and out on his own I had to lean a little the other way to stabilize. Although if you take it out by yourself you have to weight the front with 80 lbs or so. This kayak has a pretty flat bottom so you feel some of the drag compared to a V cut bottom of my old town. But it is more about spending time with the doodle than cruising fast and smooth.

Love the photo! What brand/model of kayak is that? Looks like a Perception? What model? Is it tandem? Is it stable with Murphy? I need to get a new kayak specifically for taking my GD out on the lake.

Thanks, Murphy had a great time kayaking. I knew it was going to be a lot of fun, or a complete disaster. He was perfect and can get in and out of the kayak without tipping me over!:o)
