Kona and Owen love the beach, but Kona is obsessed with fetching in the water. He really doesn't care that much on land. Sally, my husband and I grew up in Wisconsin; we know all about Midwest winters. We live on the windward side of Oahu. I think that is the spit of land off the Marine Base in Kaneohe taken from Kalama Beach. We do go to a beach that looks onto Rabbit Island but you see it from a different angle and there is more coral there than at Kalama. The beach near Rabbit Island has lots of turtles. Owen (the white doodle) can smell the turtles and is completely puzzled about where they could be. He will swim all over the place trying to find them. Of course, they only pop up for a gulp of air and then dive down into the water again.

Bonnie, Could you rub it in anymore than you did?!? LOL!!! I hate winter. We live in the land-locked Midwest and yes, there is snow on the ground. How did you know? Ha! OMD, Penny frolicked in the snow just a few days ago. She loved it; me not so much. I'm SO over winter! I assume you're in HI, based on your dog's name. Well wherever you are, it looks warm and wonderful! If you read my profile, you'll see that HI and FL are my favorite places in the world: warm weather, beaches, palm trees, ocean, etc. Enjoy!
