Hi Gwyndolyn!  When this picture was taken, Monty was probably 8-9 months old.  He is 10 months now.  There still has been no matting at all.  The worse thing was probably a single mat between his toes after he was kenneled for a week.

Congrats on giving Kona a sister!  Where did you end up finding her?  I know they must really enjoy each other.  Monty plays with his sister Mackenzie, but she is 9 years old and has no need for him at times.  :)  We keep saying that when we lose her, he will be an only dog, but I don't know.  He LOVES the companionship.  I will need to get on your page and see pictures of your new little girl!

Ho old is Monty here?  He looks so heavy chested for a puppy!  I thought he was only about 7 months old!  Maybe I read his age wrong somewhere!  Did he continue to not mat?  Kona started matting at 8 months but it was manageable until I adopted a sister for him 4 days ago.  They play so hard together that he is a matted mess now!  I am spending hours a day clipping through the mats to the point that I can comb him.  I'm so hoping I won't have to shave him!
