Rolling in the Fish Heads - UGH!

I just recently read in a book on "How Dog's Think" why they roll in fish heads, worms and the one that Holly pulled in my sister-in-law's Texas yard; fresh green deer poop! UGH, DOUBLE UGH!

 

The author stated that apparently it isn't to drive us bonkers.  It is a reversion to way back when dogs were carniverous hunters like wolves are.  Rolling in foreign substances masked their odor from their prey.

 

That said, I still think that it is to drive us bonkers!
